Truth in Lending Act

The Truth in Lending Act, TILA, was enacted to protect the consumer and to promote an informed use of consumer credit. TILA gives consumers the right to cancel certain credit transactions.

The Truth in Lending Act also regulates certain credit practices and provides a means for fair and timely resolution of credit billing disputes. TILA also provides for mortgage recession up to three years from when the loan closed. In the event the lender committed material disclosure violation.
